There are several support groups which help hearing impaired and deaf people. Most of these groups are not-for-profit organisations:

Better Hearing Australia

Non-profit, self-help organisation. Provides free, independent and professional information and advice on managing hearing loss.

Australian Government Office of Hearing Services

Administers the government program which provides subsidised services for eligible pensioners and veterans through hearing centres such as Connect Hearing. The OHS also manage the issuance of vouchers for eligible clients to access hearing assessments and devices from hearing service providers.

Voluntary, non-profit, educational organisation for hard-of-hearing people, their relatives and friends.

Australian Tinnitus Association

Aims to provide information, support and counseling to tinnitus sufferers and offers preventative education to the wider community.

Distributes deafness-related books, videos, CD-roms and other information to anyone with an interest in deafness Australia-wide.

Self-help, non-profit organisation offering support and information to those who have had or are facing treatment for an Acoustic Neuroma or any other benign cranial tumours.
